EMPATHETIC REASONING
 

Empathy is at the core of Horizon thinking. Each member must always try and put themselves in the shoes of others, be helpful, cooperative, and altruistic.

RECOGNIZING PRIVILEGE

Privilege is a complex but key concept for team members to consider. Everyone has something they are fortunate to have been born into. Accepting those opportunities and recognizing privileges is crucial. We do not deny or let them inhibit our relationships with others, but understand and take advantage in healthy, constructive ways.

COLLABORATIVE GROWTH

Teamwork is at the foundation of Horizon. We grow together, as friends and professionals. Trusting and nurturing each member’s abilities is crucial. We believe in adopting a growth mindset as an organization. This allows us to understand each person's needs, in their personal and professional lives.

Innovation is all about conserving even the smallest ideas and building upon them with your peers, working towards something that has the potential to improve lives. To us, innovation means the practical and positive application of technology, turning passion into a driver, and working with available resources.

ADAPTIVE RESILIENCE

Horizon members are resilient to challenges they face in and out of their work. Life can be challenging, school is demanding, and projects do not always get the results hoped for. We remain determined and learn from the obstacles that have held progress back. We learn from our own and others' experiences and adapt to change.
