Soulful Artist. HK native. Dedicated Actionist.
The often faceless pen that presents Horizon. Haruna Komatsu, born and raised in Hong Kong, is in her final year, majoring in Art History and minoring in Literature.
Haruna is a prolific artist, competent in many traditional media and is Horizon’s lead digital designer. Haruna inherited her love of art from her parents and elder brother. Her favorite artists are Mark Rothko and Constantin Brancusi. In her spare time, Haruna fills canvases, digital and physical. She enjoys the pastimes of her youth: zoning out at bathhouses and zen gardens.
Coming from an unusual Japanese family in the culturally conflicted Hong Kong and dealing with the ingrained sexism of her academic and professional lives, Haruna has plenty of impetus for her goals in Horizon: elevating the conversation on sexuality and social gender roles.
